Today we recycle plastic bags to make very original coasters. Sure you have a lot of plastic bags at home that you keep in case you need them, but they accumulate before you spend, because I am going to show you a different way to use them.
Makings:
- Plastic bags. For each cup holder I have used a medium bag of those that are found in the greengrocer ...
- Scissors.
- Needle.
Processing:
The first thing we are going to do is create our material to weave the coaster, it is easier to do than to explain to see if you can get an idea with the images:
- Put the bag on a surface such as a table and spread well with hands.
- Cut the handles and the bottom where it is attached, we need a rectangle, as seen in the photo. This will be double,
- Now, you see doing strips without reaching the other shore, the entire rectangle.
Now it's a bit more complicated to explain, take a good look:
- Open the bag leaving the part that you have not cut in the center resting on the table. Cut the first ribbon diagonally. Join that tape with the next one following the diagonal shape you just cut. In the image I have marked a dashed line so that you can see it better.
- Keep cutting the rest of the ribbons, With this you will get a long strip that we will use to weave our coasters.
- Roll up that ribbon and make a coil made of plastic material to work with. With the crochet it's time to make croquet, If you do not know how to knit, you can watch a tutorial online, or do like me, let yourself go and what comes out like that stays, it's about having fun!
- Once you think you have enough, close the point, although the material of a bag for each coaster has been perfect for me.
