How to make a polymer clay ring holder cactus

In this tutorial I teach you how to make a cactus ring holder de Fimo or polymer clay. You will have a place to leave rings and that they do not get lost in a very original and fun way.

Materials

To make the cactus ring holder you will need to polymer clay. In this tutorial I have used the following colors:

  • Green
  • Pink
  • Yellow
  • Black

In addition you will also need three tools: A knife, awl or any sharp object and a permanent marker.

Step by step

To make the cactus ring holder let's start with him trunk, and then add the rest of the parts. So grab a piece of colored polymer clay Verde, make a ball and then roll it back and forth with the palm of your hand until it stretches. The length depends on how big you want your cactus, but keep in mind that you can't make it too thin or it will bend.

We will continue for the arms, I have done two but you can do more or less. To make them you must make a ball with the green polymer clay, and stretch it just as you did before with the trunk. You should measure your rings and check if they fit through the clay lines you just made. If they are narrower than the rings, glue them to the trunk of the cactus and fold them so that they are facing up.

With a pilot plant knife or cutter mark vertical lines on the trunk of the cactus and horizontal lines on the arms. To simulate the spikes, mark holes all over the cactus with a awl or a sharp object.

To do the eyes Glue two black balls of clay and with a marker paint the mouth smiling.

To make it more cheerful we can add a flower. To do this, make a ball of the color you have chosen for the flower, flatten it and with a knife, mark the edge inwards to make the petals. With a much smaller ball, make the center of the flower.

Glue the flower to the top of the cactus, you will see that it gives it much more joy and is more colorful.

You just have to put the rings when the clay dries and you will have your cactus ring holder ready to decorate and use.
