Procedure for making pompoms

It consists of making two cardboard circles and in turn making another smaller circle inside them. Once we have done this, what we have to do is make a small cut in each cardboard to be able to link the wool or thread that we are going to use.
The next thing is to hold the two cartons together and roll the wool or thread around it until it is complete and fill it, the more turns we give to the carton, the fuller and denser the pompom will be.
When we have the circles filled, what we are going to do is hold the last piece of yarn or wool so that it does not escape us and start cutting the wool in the middle of the cardboard until the circle is completed. Then with a long piece of wool we will tie in the middle to make a very strong knot, make several turns to hold the pieces of wool that we have cut well.
When we have the pieces of wool well fastened we carefully remove the cartons and we shape the pompom by cutting the pieces of wool that have been the longest.
Depending on where we are going to decorate with pompoms, we can leave a longer piece of wool to hang it or join it to other pompoms.
Another and very easy way to make a pompom is use our own handsyou. This technique is ideal for decorating with pompoms, making a centerpiece at an impromptu dinner or a surprise visit that gives us little time to do something.
What we do is take the thread of wool and turn our hand, we can take two, three or four fingers to give the pompom more or less size, the volume will depend on the turns we give to our fingers with the wool.
When we have the desired volume what we have to do is leave the turns tangled in two fingers to be able to join in the center and shape the pompom, holding it with several rounds and knots so that it does not disarm us.
Finally what we do is cut each end that has been left as a loop and shape the pompom cutting off the strands that stick out.
Hay many materials that we can use to decorate with pompoms and make pompoms like wool, threads, tissue paper, tulle, t-shirt yarn, and a long etc. For each material there is a different technique but it is a very easy to make, inexpensive and highly decorative complement.
