DIY: Silk Flowers for the Fair

Fair flowers with tissue paper

Last day was Mother's Day and we made you a flowers with eva rubber. The truth is that I was going to present these flowers with tissue paper, but I have reserved them for this occasion because I see them more luxurious and striking to be able to wear them in the Fairs.

At this time of year, the Fairs of all corners of Spain begin, where men and women dress in flamenco or gypsy respectively. But, sometimes, there are people who do not dress like that, but want to wear the famous gypsy flower. Thus, we give you this inexpensive idea of being able to look beautiful at the April Fair with these tissue paper flowers.

Materials

  • Tissue paper of different colors.
  • Wire.
  • Pliers.

Process

First of all, we must catch two sheets of whole tissue paper. We fold at the top about 4 fingers thick and cut the long strip just below the fold. Once with the cut strip, we cut a piece of wire to which we will bend the ends, one so that the paper does not break (open) and the other so that it remains attached (closed).

We introduce the wire in the middle of the fold of the tissue paper, we grip it tightly with the fingers of one hand just by the end of the closed wire, and we wrinkle the paper towards that end, exerting pressure so that it remains firm.

Finally, we will introduce the open end of the wire through the closed end and pull hard with the help of pliers. To end we will open the flower completely and shape it.
