Hello everybody! In today's craft we are going to do something different, we are going to show you a trick to prevent leather or leather-type bags from peeling and disguising themselves the parts that already are.
Do you want to know how you can do it?
Materials that we will need to fix our leather-type bag
- Handbag
- White glue
- Chopsticks or any type of rod or utensil that allows us to spread the white glue.
- Bitumen type used for footwear, the same color as the bag.
Hands on craft
- The first step is take a good look at all the parts of the bag that may be damaged, so by having them well located we will be able to work more quickly with the white glue.
- Once we know where we have to put the queue we have several options: in areas of raised skin we are going to put glue and glue those parts that have stayed up; on areas where skin is missing we are going to spread a thick layer of white glue so that the hole is filled. We make sure to remove the excess glue. As the glue is transparent, any rest will remain invisible.
- We will leave dry the bag 24h. Be careful where you support it so that it does not get stuck to any place.
- Once dry we will camouflage the parts that are noticeable of different color with the bitumen as if we polished some shoes and again we will let it dry for about 24 hours.
- After that time we apply a little white glue again to finish covering the gaps and give them a shiny touch that will help to hide the damaged areas.
And ready! We can continue to carry our bag without it looking damaged and we will prevent it from continuing to peel in that area.
I hope you cheer up and try this trick to extend the life of our bags.
I have many bags in that state; I am going to try. Thank you so much! I've been thinking about what I could do with them for a long time.
