Do you like to recycle? We have this idea that you are going to love. If you have some glass jars, pYou can recycle them and wrap them with white clay. This craft consists of stretching the clay, giving it shape and with a Pastry cutter make small cavities to decorate it.
Then it will be left to dry the mud, it will be painted and finally it will be decorated with jute rope and some wooden balls. Simple and original! A great idea to decorate any corner of these Christmas.
The materials that have been used for the glass jars with clay:
- 2 glass jars.
- 1 package of air-dry white clay.
- Small star-shaped cookie cutters of different sizes.
- Gold acrylic paint.
- A brush.
- Knife.
- Scissors.
- Jute rope.
- 4 large wooden balls.
- Hot silicone and his gun.

First step:
We take the mud and stretch it with a roller. We try to stretch it enough to cover the entire glass jar.
Second step:
Once stretched we take measurements, especially its height. With the help of a ruler and a knife we cut off the excess.
Third step:
With the cookie cutters we make the shapes in the clay. We exchanged several cookie cutters so that it looked original.
Fourth step:
We wrap the clay around the glass jar. When we turn it over, we emphasize that the ends join together. We cut off the excess and join with the help of our fingers. We smooth it well so that the union is not noticeable. We let the mud dry so we can paint it later.
Fifth step:
With the help of a brush, we paint the mud. We let it dry.
Step Six:
With the help of hot silicone, we wrap and glue the jute rope to the top of the jar. In my case I have made two turns of rope to make it compact. We leave two strips of rope where we will finally knot them.
Seventh step:
We put the wooden balls at the ends. To prevent them from coming off, we will add a small drop of hot silicone.
