In this tutorial, I'll show you how to create a children's calendar , perfect for helping little ones learn the days, weeks, and months of the year in a fun and creative way. It's great for making in a classroom or at home for a child's bedroom.
Materials
To make the children's calendar you will need the following materials:
- Rubber eva
- Felt fabric
- Markers
- Felt figures
- Circular drilling machine
- Square hole punch
- White glue
- Scissors
Step by step
First, write the calendar sections on craft foam: “Today is…”; “Month”; “Day” . Then, cut out the outline with decorative scissors. You can glue several pieces of craft foam together to give it dimension . After gluing them, draw the outline with markers and blend it by gently rubbing with a piece of craft foam. Glue these onto the terry cloth craft foam.
Using the square hole punch , punch 31 small squares of craft foam for the days of the month. Write the number of each day on the squares and glue them onto a felt rectangle.
Next, create different spaces using the felt rectangles . One will be for the days of the month, another for the days of the week, and another for the months.
Now punch out circles from craft foam for the days of the week and the months of the year. Write each day and month inside and glue them onto their corresponding felt rectangles.
At this point, use the same hole punch to punch a different color of craft foam, but this time you'll only need the outline instead of a circle. This will serve as a frame to mark the day and month . Decorate it by gluing on felt shapes . Then, you can do the same with the square hole punch to mark the current day.
And you will have finished your children's calendar. Remember that you have many decoration options with silhouettes different. As you can see, I have done it with a candy theme, but it would also look great with silhouettes of animals, flowers, weather conditions ...
