In this tutorial, you are going to learn how to make a ladybug-shaped pen. The material that we are going to use to create it is going to be polymer clay, but it is important that it is air-dried since the pen cannot be put in the oven. Let's see how it's done.
Necessary materials
To make the pen in the shape of a ladybug, of course you will need the pen that you want to decorate. For this figure a red or black one is better.
As I have already mentioned you will also need air drying clay. The colors that you will only use are going to be three:
- Red
- Black
- Blanco
Step by step
Start by preparing the pen. If you use one like the one in this tutorial, you will have to remove the protrusion of the cap and mark with a permanent marker how far it goes, so that when you cover the pen you do not go overboard and you can cover it.
Now create the ladybug.
Make a big red ball and insert the cap of the pen into it.
To create the head, take a black ball, create an oval and flatten it a little with the palm of your hand. Paste it on the body you just made.
To create the eyes, squash two small white balls and stick them on the head. Do the same with other smaller black ones and some tiny white ones, which will act as pupils and the brightness of the eyes.

For the antennas, create two short churritos from two balls, and stick them on the head.
To make the polka dots, simply crush a few black balls and glue them to the ladybug's body.

You already have the base of the ladybug done, now we are going to cover the pen. To do this, create a long black churro, and insert the pen into it until you reach the mark you made at the beginning.
You can put a couple of ladybugs decorating the pen. These are made in the same way as the big one.
And when the clay dries you can place the pen on the base. This is the result.
