Today you are going to see how to make a photo frame out of ice cream sticks. It is ideal to do with children, both for its simplicity and its speed. In addition, this craft is ideal to personalize depending on the type of photos we want to put on it, and even to mount several frames on the same wall or place.
With that said, let's get going!
Materials
- White glue
- Linseed Oil or Wood Varnish
- Icecream sticks
- 1 photo that we want to put
- Pyrography
- Brush
Process
- First is to take the reference measures that we are going to need. For it, we put two ice cream sticks across the photo. As seen in the photo.
- Then, we glue the sides, two sticks on each side and we remove the photo.
- From the back, we do the same. With a single stick on each side. The function that it will have is to back up the photo so that it does not fall. I have used a drop of glue, and although it is unlikely, I have not put the photo in case it spilled and stained.
- Draw the path of the drawing with a pencil we want to do with pyrography. In my case, being a couple of bunnies, I made a carrot with a picture of a happy rabbit next to it.
- Take the pyrograph and review the layout that we did with pencil. As they have been engraved on the wood, we can erase with an eraser if necessary, the pencil strokes without worrying about staining or erasing anything.
- Apply linseed oil or varnish. In my case, I have opted for a matte linseed oil with a slight touch of darkness. I wanted to highlight the reliefs of the sticks, but without darkening them much and without brilliance.
Y after drying, to place the photo and put it! I hope you liked it. It is a very inexpensive craft so if you want, as I said, many frames can be replicated and with it make a frame from different photos.
