Stores sell fantastic slingshots, but if you want to recreate the slingshots of your childhood, it's best to make a homemade one. Below we show you how to make a slingshot at home easily and with few materials. You'll be playing in no time!

As materials, you will not need many things to make a slingshot at home. Actually, practically all of them can be found stored in a drawer at home and it is probably not necessary for you to buy anything in any stationery store. Let's see what it is.
- Two sheets of Din A4 paper

- First of all we will have to make a roll with one of the sheets of paper with the help of a pencil. To do this, we will roll the sheet lengthwise over the pencil slowly and carefully.
- Get out your pencil and seal the roll of paper you've got with some tape on the ends and in the center of the roll. Finally, also extend a piece of tape along the entire roll to make sure it is well attached.
- You will have to do the previous step twice since in this way you will create the sticks of the slingshot.
- Then take the scissors and cut one of the sticks almost in half, leaving one end longer than the other. Cut the other stick into equal parts.
- Take two of the sticks and using scissors cut two of the ends diagonally and then glue them together to make the V shape of the slingshot.
- Subsequently, take the main stick of the slingshot and make small cuts at one end to achieve 4 tabs that you will remove backwards. This will help tie the major stick to the minor sticks.
- The next step is to add the hot glue with a gun to the V sticks in order to join them together.
- Then you will have to add a little hot silicone to the tabs of the mainmast and a drop inside the stick.
- Next, insert the V-shaped stick into the main stick and carefully glue the tabs.
- Finally, you will have to put the rubber of the slingshot. To do this, tie two knots at each end of the V.
- And ready! In a few steps you will have managed to make a fantastic homemade slingshot with which to have a great time competing to shoot down targets.
Other ways to make a slingshot
If you want to make a slingshot to take with you everywhere, a good idea might be to make a pocket slingshot. Its small size is excellent for carrying anywhere. Furthermore, to make it you do not need to gather too many materials and its preparation is not very complicated, although it does require a little patience.

- A wide-mouth soda bottle (Aquarius type or another brand of beverage).
- A lighter
- Sandpaper
- one or two balloons
- A cutter

- First, cut the bottle at the neck to separate the cap part. You can throw the container part in the trash because what matters is the cap and mouthpiece.
- Next, take sandpaper to file down any sharp edges that may be left on the plastic nozzle. This part should be as smooth as possible. Don't worry if you don't have sandpaper, you can also use a lighter to burn the sharp edges so they are lowered.
- The next thing will be to take the cutter to carefully remove the ring from the cap seal.
- Now we will take the balloon and cut it at the neck part one centimeter above where the balloon begins to widen.
- We are going to keep the wide part to make the slingshot. You will have to place it in the mouth of the bottle on the part that you have previously sanded or burned. Adjust it well and then add the ring of the seal that you had removed before.
- And you would have your homemade slingshot ready! To use it for the first time and test how it works, add the balls that will serve as ammunition for the slingshot to the inside of the balloon.
- To carry this homemade slingshot in your pocket, you just have to put the ammunition inside and close it with the bottle cap. That easy!
How to properly use a slingshot
Once you have finished your homemade slingshot, it is time to test it and shoot down targets. To use a slingshot correctly you must know that shooting with it is not the same as aiming and hitting. Like any other thrown weapon, the slingshot has a sighting system to hit the target.
The first way to use the slingshot will be to rotate your wrist and form a vertical line with the two arches. Then you will have to center the target taking the middle of the upper chamber as a reference and then align the rubber in such a way that they go all the way down to be able to launch the projectile effectively.
The second way to use a slingshot correctly is a system in which the rubber band usually goes above the well. In this case, the same elastic band will have to be used to aim and fire the projectile effectively.
