It's getting close Valentine's Day, time where we are all more romantic, eager to meet with friends, family and partner.
There is nothing more beautiful than giving something made by ourselves, for that reason today I bring you a tutorial to make beautiful paper flowers crepe used to give and decorate.
They are quite cheap and easy to do so let's see the step by step:
Materials to make paper flowers:
- Crepe paper in the desired color, I have chosen pink, since it takes us to the romantic, ideal for Valentine's Day. If you don't have crepe paper, here you can buy it in the color that you like the most.
- Ribbons in combinable colors.
- Buttons, scissors and glue preferably in silicone.
- Flexible wire.
Guide to making paper flowers
Step 1:
The first thing we do is cut into squares, several layers of the paper.
The more layers we have, the more armed our flower will be.
Step 2:
At one end of the square, we begin to fold like zig zag, keeping all the layers together.
Step 3:
It should be as we see in the image below.
Step 4:
We cover the wire with green tape, using the glue so that it does not disarm us.
The size of the wire depends on the size of our flower, it should be proportional.
Step 5:
Now, we place the wire right in the half of the paper, pressing very hard, as we see in the image below.
Step 6:
We begin to open the petals, for that it is enough with separate very carefully each layer of paper, trying to get a round shape.
We should be looking like the image below:
Step 7:
We started the funniest part, which is to use the imagination, to decorate.
In this case I used buttons to make the center of the flower neater.
Then also, they can decorate with ribbons and buttons.
This is how it would look:
With these flowers, they can do corsages, decorate tables and give as gifts.

You can also create different types of paper flowers with this same process by simply changing the cut of the ends of the paper accordion. In the following image I show you three different cuts that will give a different finish to your flowers.
Cut the ends in a peak so that the pointed edges come out, if you make small fine cuts you will get a carnation, and if you leave them curved your flower will look more like a rose.
Remember that the bigger the squares, the bigger the crepe paper flowers, and the more squares you use, the thicker it will be. This must also be taken into account when designing them.
I hope you enjoy and we find more ideas next time.
