If you need an original and quick idea for Valentine's Day, and you also have cardboard and foam rubber, you've just come to a good place.
Today I'm going to teach you how to make a simple heart shaped kirigami postcard to surprise your partner on this Valentine's Day.
Materials
- Red ribbon
- Two plastic eyes
- Red and yellow cardstock
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Glue
- Red eva rubber
Process
- We cut the yellow cardboard and fold it. On the outside, we glue two hearts, two eyebrows and a mouth in the shape of an «o» small that we have previously cut. In the hearts, we put that pair of eyes, so that as a whole it simulates a surprised face.
- The second step is cut two equal hearts. To make sure they are exact, what I did was cut two cards at the same time.
- This step is important. We cut an internal spiral with both hearts at the same time. As an aid, you can use tweezers, and this way they will be more tied.
- Once we have the spiral made, we are going to unite the centers of the hearts as they are, without separating them. In this way, we will maintain the symmetry we are looking for and once assembled they will fit us well.
- In this part, we put the ribbon in the middle of the congratulation by the fold and we tie it with a bow. Then, on the inside, we cut decorations with the eva rubber. Later, We glue the heart only by putting glue on the outside. (If you want, you can make it coincide with the face that we have put on the cover, against the light it is curious)
And this is the result! You can take advantage of the left part to put a dedication, a photo or both. In this way it would be complete.
