As you all know the origami is the Japanese art of folding paper without using glue or scissors to obtain figures in various ways. Well, today we wanted to practice this technique to start with a new collection of mini books.
These mini books can serve you thumbnail collection mode or, also, as a keychain. In addition, these little things children love, although origami is quite complex, this technique of making these mini books is very simple for older children to do.
Materials
- Colored sheets (in the image I have used thin cardboard but these are quite thick so I had to cut into several sections).
- Scissors.
- Glue.
- Scrap of fabric.
Process
First we will cut 4 pieces of paper sheet measuring 15 x 15 cm. These we will fold in half and cut so that we get 6 sections. We will take each section and fold it in half lengthwise and then in half widthwise. Next, we will bend backwards again and we will turn it around to fold backwards again, in such a way that it is like a small accordion.
We will do this with six sections and we will arrange them all in a straight line. These have a kind of M shape so now we will arrange them in a straight line but exchanging some with the M up and others down.
Then in this position we go joining each end by inserting one into the other, applying glue on both sides of one and then insert on the other. So on until all the sections are finished and a long accordion is formed.
Finally, we only have to place the fabric. Thus, we will measure both flaps of this mini book and we will also glue them by making and gluing the part where all the folds meet. We will press with tweezers and let it dry.
