Pot decorated with clay to make gifts

Pot decorated with clay

Sometimes we don't know where you keep small gifts in an original way. With this tutorial I bring you an idea to create a decorated boat to make gifts. We could take it as a double gift, because later the decorative pot remains to store other things. It is great for us now that the Mother's Day.

Materials

  • Messenger
  • Fimo or polymer clay
  • Clay knife
  • Roller

Step by step

To create the pot decorated with gift clay you must open the pot and work with the loose lid first. Top-pot

Choose the clay of the color you want to cover the lid. Smooth it out with the roller and make it as thin as you can. Make it bigger than the lid because you will always have time to trim, but we don't want to be too short.

Smooth clay

Place it covering the lid and cut the remaining clay with a knife or you can even do it with scissors. Cover lid

Press well with the palm of your hand so that the clay adheres to the pot. This is done with the palm of the hand so as not to leave too many footprints. If you want, you can also roll it over, so you make sure that the lid of the jar is very smooth. Cover cap

You can now put the lid on the jar if it is more comfortable for you to work like this.

Next we are going to create a bow as if it were a gift package. To do this, stretch the clay creating a churro, flatten it and cut the ends so that they are straight. Boat lines

Place it on the lid from one side to the other, and do the same with another piece. The latter must be glued in such a way that the two churros are crossed on the lid. Tapa with churros

Now make the ribbons for the bow. Roll out a churro and flatten it. Cut the ends so that there are two spikes. Cut the churro in half and you will have two strips. Boat ribbons

Glue the strips to the lid with the spikes down. Boat with ribbons

To make the rest of the loop, create a churro, flatten it and fold it as you see in the image. Clay bow

Mark a line in the center and two more horizontally on the sides. Use a small squashed churro to create the center of the bow. Full loop

Glue it on the lid.

And you will have finished your boat.

Good. If we do it with Fimo or polymer clay we will not be able to put it in the oven, so how does it harden?

      Hi July.
In this case, the polymer clay must be air-dried. You can use the Fimo brand in the FImo Soft range or any air drying clay such as Jumping Clay or DAS Color.
      A greeting!
