Pyrography a box with the drawing you want

lann

A few days ago we showed you a tutorial in which we talked about the pyrography and I also showed you my first work with this technique. Well, since I liked the pyrography so much, here you have a second installment with a tutorial to make engravings with drawings that you can get from the Internet.

In this Do It Yourself, we will learn to record a box to decorate or to store objects with the pyrography. If you are good at drawing you can do this DIY freehand, and if not, you can always trace the drawing.

Materials

  1. An wooden box.
  2. Un pyrograph and different tips depending on the drawing that we are going to do.
  3. Un Pencil and a rubber of delete.

Process

As I have already mentioned, you can do the freehand drawing, and if you are not good draftsmen, You can always choose to download the image from the Internet and trace it. As I am new to the subject of pyrography, I have opted for a drawing without relief of the Lannister shield from Game of Thrones.

This type of drawing is very good, since they stand out a lot and are easy to do, but if you dare with something more difficult, you can look for drawings with shadows and gradients.

Once we have printed the image, we will cut it out and We will trace the shape with a pencil on the box.

Once traced, With the fine tip of the pyrography, we will outline the entire contour. Keep in mind that this process cannot be done very slowly since it would be too marked and, our intention is simply to outline it. Then, we will erase with the eraser all the excess pencil marks from the drawing.

With the pliers we will change the tip of the pyrography for other. This time, we will use a flat tip to color the inside of the drawing. With great care, we will go through the interior of the entire drawing, leaving a texture as uniform as possible. As you can see in the photograph, I have a lot to improve but, even so, I was quite satisfied with the result.

Until the next DIY!
