Today I want to show you how I have made some scrunchy scrunchies of fabric that I have left over from other crafts.
In a few steps and taking advantage of material With what we have left over we can make some pretty scrunchies to style our hair with these original and exclusive accessories.
Materials I used to make the scrunchies
- Scraps of fabric.
- Elastic rubber.
- Sewing machine.
- Scissors.
Procedure
To begin with I chose the fabric scraps that I wanted to use to make these scrunchies. Then I cut rectangles with the pieces as straight and even as possible.
then I sewed the ends of each patch to make a border in each of the scrunchies. This step can be done by hand, although I have used the sewing machine, this tutorial can be done by hand if you do not have a sewing machine.
When I had the edges of the scrunchies sewn, the next thing is to sew the side, the fabric has to be inside out and then we have to turn it over, to help me I used a skewer stick.
Once we have all the right scrunchies, what follows is to pass the elastic band, I used a 6 millimeter wide one and cut strips of 20 centimeters more or less each one. With a safety pin we pass the elastic inside the scrunchies and tie at the end with a very strong knot so that it does not come loose, we can also give it some stitches.
I didn't tie the edges of the scrunchies together at the end, I just tucked one inside the other and left it open so I could change the rubber band if it gets damaged or broken.
And with these simple steps we can make a whole set of scrunchies to combine with our clothes and accessories or simply to take advantage of those scraps of fabric that we have left over from other crafts.
