Spherical lamp made with broken glass

Spherical lamps with broken glass

Sometimes in big home souvenir centers, finding a lamp That satisfies us is something difficult, either because they can be very extravagant or because the design for the house is not worth it, or simply because goes out of budget.

Well, today I present you this curious craft that can satisfy us when it comes to making our own lamp, recycling any broken glass that has been broken at home for any reason.

Material

  • Sphere with expanded polystyrene.
  • Silicone.
  • Broken glasses.
  • Battery-powered electrical installation.
  • Gloves.

Process

First of all, we will place glue from silicone in one of the bases of the sphere of polystyrene and, we will place it quickly on the broken glass, pressing a little so that the pieces of glass adhere well, and we will let it dry. Later, we will repeat this process with the entire sphere.

Later, we would make a opening in the sphere to remove the polystyrene sphere, to place it back to glue it with silicone when we have introduced the electrical installation. You have to be very careful with glasses, so it is advisable to use gloves.

I loved this lamp, I've been looking for something easy to make with glass for a long time. but I have a doubt, the silicone detaches itself from the polystyrene ball? …. thank you very much in advance 🙂

Hi how are things? Beautiful lamp. I MADE a laptop with balls, I glued them with hot silicone and they are coming off. What can I do? Could it be that cold silicone is better?
