Support for playing cards

Support for playing cards

This card holder is perfect for children to get started in the game of cards. With this structure it will be much easier for them to place the cards in each compartment and thus be able to have a good grip and a better view of all of them. You can make so many supports for those little ones that it is difficult for them to hold the cards with their hands, so they can concentrate much more on the game.

The materials that I have used are:

  • A fairly wide piece of stiff cardboard
  • Black felt fabric, quite a large piece
  • Yellow felt cloth, a small piece
  • Blue felt fabric, a small piece
  • A piece of adhesive felt from the part that can grip the felt
  • A white wax paint for marking
  • Scissors
  • A rule
  • Hot silicone glue with gun

You can see this craft step by step in the following video:

First step:

In the cardboard that we have we make three faces, for this we will measure each of the faces (about 17 cm each) and we fold them to make the triangular shape. We will take measurements to also make the width of the support about 21 cm and cut it.

Second step:

We take our felt fabric and we make custom cuts to be glued on all sides of the cardboard the fabric. We will help each other to make the measurements with the white wax paint. We will stick it with the hot silicone and we will have the detail of gluing the edges of the fabric delicately and covering the other side of the cardboard with the other fabric.

Third step:

We will make the pockets where the cards will be placed. We catch the yellow felt and we will take the measurement of the first pocket. This pocket has to be larger than the next one that goes down, as it will have to cover from the top to the bottom. To take the measurements we will use the white wax paint to mark and then we will cut. We will put the silicone on the edges To place it on the structure, it must be specified that the silicone will not be applied on all four sides but only in a U-shape. We will leave one of the long sides free and unglued to put the cards in.

Fourth step:

We will do the same with the blue cloth. We take the measurements to form the pocket with the help of the white wax paint and then we will cut out. At the time of putting the silicone we will also put on three of its sides to be able to place the cards through the hole. Finally we will place a strip of adhesive velcro inside and on the sides of the structure, so that when we make the triangular shape it can be maintained. In this way, one of the sides, being made of felt, will stick to the velcro and thus it will not come loose.
