In this tutorial I will teach you two ways to do ties with Fimo or with any kind of polymer clay. They are very simple but they look great as a complement to other works.
Let's start with the easiest way:
- Make two equal balls.
- Create a drop with each one. To do this, roll the balls on one side with a finger, in this way you will stretch only one part.
- Squash them very gently with your fingertips.
- With a knife, mark two lines on each drop, simulating the folds of the loop.
- For the center of the bow, make a ball.
- Glue the drops from the tip to the sides of the ball.
And in this way you will have finished the simple loop. We are going to see now the other way, which is still not difficult, but has some more steps and less simple ways.
- Make two equal balls.
- Create two drops as in the previous loop.
- Create a double drop. To do this, also roll the drop on the other side, on the round part.
- Smash the double drops. They will leave you with a shape similar to that of a lemon.
- Fold the double drops so that their tips meet, but do not squash them, there should be a gap in the center.
- Join the two shapes at the ends.
- To make the center, make a ball.
- Stretch it by creating a line.
- Smash this line.
- Wrap it around the center of the bow.
You can also make the lines on each side that simulate the folds of the bow.
And this is the result of the two ties.
I personally like the shape of the pink better, but with children you can apply the simple step by step as long as they do not get more fluent with the clay.
These bows are also very cheerful by adding details such as dots or lines. Decorate with them photo frames, boxes, notebooks, dolls, and you can even make bracelets and necklaces.
