With a simple cardboard box, we've been able to create a wonderful upcycled project. We've repurposed it to build a doll's wardrobe and store all her clothes. I chose a cheerful medium pink with a star print, but you can always choose any color and pattern you like. This box is meant to be made occasionally, as it's not designed to last a long time, but the important thing is to enjoy creating a craft project, which you can even design with young children.
The materials that I have used are:
- a rectangular box with four flaps
- wrapping paper or any type of decorative paper to line the box
- another decorative paper of a different color to decorate the inside of the box (optional)
- scissors
- a wide brush
- glue glue
- hot silicone glue
- one doorknobs
- some magnets so they can close the doors

First step:
We'll choose a box with four flaps. We'll cut out the two smaller side flaps. These will serve as shelves later. We'll start measuring the paper to glue it around the box. We'll use glue, but we need to be careful when applying it. It's important that the glue doesn't wrinkle the paper too much, so we can use a wide brush to spread the glue evenly and avoid blobs. If you happen to use a thicker decorative paper than usual, it will be much easier to prevent wrinkling.
Second step:
As you can see, we're gluing the paper to all the corners of the box. Be careful when gluing it in the area that will be the doors , so the paper isn't too tight and can't be moved easily. I've lined the inside of the box with a different color to contrast with the outside.
Third step:
We covered the two flaps we had cut out with paper. We placed them inside the box and secured them with hot glue.
Fourth step:
We'll attach the doorknobs. Using a screwdriver, drill holes where the knobs will be mounted. I chose metal ones that can be screwed in, but you can use plastic or wooden ones. Finally, place small magnets between the box and the doors so they close properly.
